Yawn: Casey Anthony Speaks: I’m Ashamed in Many Ways

Casey Anthony, in an exclusive telephone interview with CNN’s Piers Morgan said, she didn’t kill her daughter and having the kid was her greatest accomplishment.

Anthony, 26, who has not been heard from much publicly since being acquitted of murdering her 2-year-old daughter last July, broke her silence.

“Obviously, I didn’t kill my daughter. If anything in this world I was more proud of was my daughter. She was my greatest accomplishment. I didn’t kill my girl,’ Anthony said to Morgan who read from the phone transcript.

Anthony also reflected on how she is percieved by the public leading up to her trial and since her acquittal, saying it’s “absolutely horrible.”

“It’s horrible. It looks absolutely horrible, and I’m ashamed in many ways of the person that I was,” Anthony said over the phone. “Even then, that wasn’t who I am.”

In the Anthony also tried to repair her image telling Morgan that she was “not a party girl” and she had “never done drugs apart from marijuana in my early 20’s.”

Putting to rest that she had been paid big bucks for the phone interview, Anthony told Morgan that she doesn’t care any more about money.

“I don’t give an expletive about money… I may have in past… I was a stupid kid. I am 26 now. I have gone through hell,” she said.

Anthony says she spends her time cooking at home, cleaning, exercising and watching television.

Cheney Mason, Anthony’s attorney, live on the set with Morgan said, Casey had “a bad background… a lot of problems with her history..” He added that despite her being out of jail, Anthony is not free.

Anthony is currently on probation having been convicted of check fraud charges.  She is also being sued for defamation by Zenaida Gonzalez, an Orlando mom who said that her life was ruined after Anthony falsely claimed her 2-year-old daughter was kidnapped by a baby sitter with the same name.  Anthony later admitted to fabricating the story.

Last month, an Orange County judge ruled that Gonzalez’ attorneys must get access to Anthony’s current and past addresses, and she was served with a subpoena which was accepted by Mason.   Anthony’s whereabouts however, are sealed to the public.

Anthony could face in judge next January to respond to Gonzalez’ defamation lawsuit.
