American Lung Association Climbing Heights for Lung Cancer Awareness

Bank of America Building, 390 North Orange Avenue

Mayor Buddy Dyer will attend the American Lung Association’s Climbing Heights for Lung Cancer event at the Bank of America building in Downtown Orlando. More than 400 individuals, including members from the Orlando Police Department and the Orlando Fire Department are participating in this event in an effort to raise awareness and funds to fight lung cancer.

City of Orlando Veteran’s Day Parade

Mayor Dyer and his Veterans Advisory Council will honor the courageous men and women of our armed forces by hosting the Orlando Veterans Day Parade.

Mayor Dyer and the Orlando City Council will hear a presentation entitled Senate Bill 360 and Amendment 4 Overview presented by Frank Billingsley, Economic Development Director, and Kevin Tyjeski, Chief Planning Manager.

Mayor Dyer will join local Mayors, Chief Operations Officer of the Orlando Magic Alex Martins and President and Chief Executive Officer with the Harris Corporation Howard Lance at half-time during the Orlando Magic vs. Charlotte Bobcats game at the Amway Arena, as part of the Orlando Magic’s “Seats for Soldiers” event.  During half-time, Mayor Dyer will also present the “City of Orlando Armed Forces Community Covenant” to honor our service men and women here at home and abroad.

Mayor Buddy Dyer’s Senior Cinema Day
Plaza Cinema Café, 155 South Orange Avenue

Mayor Dyer will host seniors from several local senior centers for Senior Cinema Day at the Plaza Cinema Café in Downtown Orlando.  Seniors will receive lunch and popcorn and a viewing of Love Happens.

Second Harvest Food Drive Work-Along
1918 West Princeton Street

Mayor Dyer will work-along with volunteers from the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) of Orange County to help sort food items at the Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida’s (SHFBCF) “Food Rescue Center” warehouse in an effort to create awareness about the need for giving during the holiday season and to launch the City’s Holiday Food Drive.
