WESH 2 News’ Michelle Imperato joins Second Harvest Food Bank’s Board

Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida recently welcomed Michelle Imperato to its board of directors.

A weekday news anchor for Orlando’s NBC affiliate, WESH 2 News, since 2014, Imperato has covered many significant events affecting Central Floridians, including the Pulse tragedy, disaster relief following Hurricanes Irma and Michael, and most recently, the COVID-19 pandemic – and specifically, its impact on hunger.

“I believe no one should have to wonder where their next meal is coming from – no one should have to go to work, school or bed hungry,” said Imperato. “I’ve seen firsthand the difference Second Harvest Food Bank makes for so many struggling families, and I’m thrilled to support that vital service.”

In addition to her duties as a board member, Imperato also lended her talents to co-host the food bank’s new annual fundraiser, The Ultimate Garden Party, held on May 21st.

For more than two years, Second Harvest’s food distribution has increased amid the global pandemic. The food bank and its network of 500 nonprofit feeding partners have been distributing enough food for 250,000 meals a day.
