Would-be Killer Caught

Following a high speed chase earlier this evening, Orange County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO) deputies have captured a man wanted for attempted murder.

According to OCSO:

At approximately 5:15 pm today March 9th, investigators from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office made an attempt to stop a vehicle on State Road 429.  Deputies believed that inside the vehicle was a suspect wanted for attempted murder in Orange County.  Upon spotting the deputy the suspect sped down 429 with deputies in pursuit.  The suspect continued on 429 at a high rate of speed until he ran through a fence, getting his tires cut near Stoneybrook Parkway.  The suspect bailed out of the vehicle but was captured by deputies after a brief foot pursuit.

The suspect is Joshua Walker, 23 years, wanted for the attempted murder of a man on February 28th 2010, at 1940 Lake Atrium Circle in Orange County.

On February 28th, the victim told investigators he had just finished conducting business and was getting into his car when Walker armed with a firearm jumped into the backseat of his vehicle and told him to “drive”.  Walker forced the victim to another apartment complex, at 4349 South Texas Avenue where he demanded that the man give him everything he had.  The man was able to pull out a firearm and fired at Walker, but missed.  Walker returned fire, injuring the victim.  He fled the scene, but accidentally left his wallet behind.

Walker was arrested this evening on State Road 429, when he crashed his vehicle near Stoneybrook Parkway.

A second suspect is also in custody at this time.
