Attorney Roberta Walton, one of the candidates in the race for Orange County Commission, District 6, believes Pine Hills is well poised to experience a growth spurt and that the services of organizations like SCORE Orlando, which mentors and provides support to small business owners, are essential for continued development of the area.

“For the current businesses to position themselves for the shift Pine Hills is experiencing, we must transition their attitudes and the way they currently do business,” she said. “….The community is experiencing a growth spurt which commands the insight from entities such as SCORE to come in with tools to strengthen and better equip those stakeholders to take advantage of larger market forces.”

Walton, who attended last week’s meeting of the Pine Hills Neighborhood Improvement District (NID) at which SCORE presented highlights of their services, added that, attracting new retail and housing development into the area will require “not only capital, but both time and skill.”

“I am excited each time I attend a Pine Hills NID Business Association meeting because of the obvious shift happening in the community and I am equally excited I have shared in the opportunity to be a part of it,” she said.
