Victim Rescued During Central Florida Human Trafficking Operation, Multiple Arrests

A victim was successfully rescued following a multi-day human trafficking operation in Central Florida, which led to multiple arrests.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office’s Human Trafficking Section conducted a multi-day operation from at the end of January, where a total of 15 individuals were arrested.

According to local law enforcement, one notable arrest during this operation occurred when detectives observed 28-year-old Trayvon Butler arriving with a victim at the undercover operation location.

When detectives made contact with the victim, they found she was a victim of human trafficking. Selah Freedom was contacted and assisted with housing placement for the victim.

Butler was taken into custody without incident and is facing charges of Coerce for Commercial Sex Act by Human Trafficking, Deriving Support From Proceeds of Prostitution, and Transporting for Prostitution.

“The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to fighting the heinous crime of human trafficking and protecting the vulnerable from exploitation,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “Thanks to the diligent work of our Human Trafficking Section, we not only arrested individuals preying on others but also rescued a victim from this dangerous cycle.”
