A Central Florida defendant was convicted for the murder of a local rapper.
After a three-day trial, a Volusia County jury found defendant Robert Blue guilty as charged of Second-Degree Murder (Firearm).
In the early morning hours of June 4, 2023, a local rapper was burning money at a Daytona Beach party to celebrate a milestone in his career. While celebrating with the big group of people, video surveillance shows Blue approach the victim. They began to argue, which led to a short physical fight.
The victim can then be seen running away. However, Blue pulls out a gun and shoots at him multiple times.
The victim was shot in the back and legs. He died from his injuries at the scene. Blue drove away from the scene but was later arrested.
“We continue our efforts to rid our communities of violent murderers,” State Attorney R.J. Larizza said about the case. “Our efforts bear fruit and our citizens are safer for it.”
The Central Florida murder case of the local rapper was investigated by the Daytona Beach Police Department. Assistant State Attorneys Helen Schwartz and Haley Mark successfully tried the case for the state. The Honorable Elizabeth Blackburn presided over the case and will pronounce sentence at a later date.
The defendant faces up to life in prison for the crime.
