Universal to raise base pay to $9/hour, announces Job Fairs

UniversalfinalUniversal Orlando will increase its hourly base pay to $9 from $8,  the company announced Tuesday.

As part of its recruitment efforts, Universal Orlando will hold a Virtual Job Fair on Saturday, May 10th. Qualified candidates applying online between 8am and 3pm for Hourly Parks or CityWalk Positions will receive a call from a Human Resources Professional that day to conduct a phone interview or schedule an in-person interview.  Any qualified candidates that apply before or after the event will be contacted via email and phone if there is interest.

The theme park will also host an Open House Job Fair at Universal CityWalk on Tuesday, May 13, between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. to recruit for new venues already open or soon to be – including  including Antojitos, Vivo and Hot Dog Hall of Fame. 

Earlier, Universal Orlando announced that nearly 3,500 new employees would be hired in 2014 as the resort opens eight new Universal CityWalk venues, the Cabana Bay Beach Resort hotel and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter- Diagon Alley.
