Hundreds of Volunteers from Foresters™ and UCP of Central Florida, organizers from KaBOOM! and residents of the Winter Garden community joined forces on Saturday, Nov. 17 to build a new playground for children with and without special needs at UCP’s West Orange Campus.

The playground build included a Foresters Family Fun Zone featuring arts & crafts, games and activities for families and children throughout the day.

The new playground will serve 700 children and their families annually and was designed based on drawings created by children who participated in a Design Day event in October. Playgrounds provide an opportunity for families to spend quality time together and get to know other families in their community.

UCP’s West Orange Campus is a pre-K through first grade charter school serving children with cerebral palsy, autism, Down syndrome, spina bifida, and visual and hearing impairments.  The West Orange Campus has plans to expand to third grade in the future and move to a new location in spring 2013.
