Earlier this month, UCF Police officers and Public Safety staff members were recognized at the Knight Star Awards ceremony for their years of service milestones and recent retirements. Corporal Peter Stephens of the UCF Police Department was also named the USPS Employee of the Year and awarded a $2,500 check.
According to UCF, Corporal Stephens took on the additional duty and responsibility for the vacant Special Events role at UCFPD throughout 2021. He continuously stepped in to assist with campus events and activities, including “taking on the very, very, large task of putting together the operations plan, staffing hundreds of law enforcement personnel from all around Central Florida and countless other details that outsiders have no idea what is done behind the scenes to pull off such large-scale events.”
Corporal Peter Stephens was recognized as the 2021 USPS Employee of the Year at the 2022 Knight Star Awards earlier in March. At the Knight Star Awards, honorees include employees celebrating years of service milestones, retirees, and recipients of the USPS Employee of the Year Award and Gabor A&P Excellence Award.
