UCF Football Player Family: No Settlement Cap

The family of the UCF football player who collapsed and died during a practice session is suing the university for wrongful death.

Ereck Plancher’s family will go to court on Friday to persuade a judge that any damages due to the family should not be capped.

But, lawyers for UCF argue that any potential damages should be capped at $200,000, as the university is a state agency which is subject to sovereign immunity.
