Four suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder of a man in his Poinciana home, Osceola County Sheriff Bob Hansell announced at a press conference Tuesday.

Juan Sebastian Muriel and David Damus, both 21 years old, along with Konrad Schafter, 15 and Victoria Rios, 17, have all been charged with first degree murder in the shooting death of Eric Roopnarine, 22, on July 4th.  The four have also been charged with home invasion with a firearm and grand theft.

Investigators say, the motive for Roopnarine’s killing was robbery.

Roopnarine’s mother told investigators she left the home in the 900 block of Mendoza Lane around 11:00 p.m. on July 3, and when she returned around 1:30 a.m., found her son, Eric lying on the floor unresponsive.  He was pronounced dead on the scene by the Medical Examiner.

Investigators also say, Schaefer and Damus are connected to the shooting incidents reported in the unincorporated area of Osceola County which included two occupied residences, two unoccupied residences and one unoccupied vehicle.  Additional charges are pending.
