Two suspects wanted for felony battery following a concert at Club Skye on E. 8th Ave in Ybor City turned themselves in to the Tampa Police Department, including a 15-year-old.
Zachary L. Benton is charged with Felony Battery in connection with the incident. 15-year-old Edward A. Hamlett is charged with Felony Battery and Minor in Possession of a Firearm While Wearing a Mask.
According to law enforcement, on November 27th, at approximately 1:17am, following a concert at Club Skye in Ybor City, an adult male victim, attempted to approach the performer for a photo.
Eyewitnesses told police when the victim tried to get a picture, Benton punched him without provocation and Hamlett then ran over and punched the victim several more times. The victim was transported to a local hospital.
The Tampa Police thanked all the videos submitted and anonymous tips provided by the community for detectives to be able to positively identify the suspects involved and issue an arrest warrant.
