It was determined that the victim, Mr. Shelby Melton, hired Ms. Moore on or about April of 2006 to care for him and his now late wife to provide 24 hour in-home care. The cost was estimated and agreed upon to be $1,750 weekly; however, during the course of approximately a year and half Ms. Moore and Ms. Price fraudulently obtained over $210,000, grossly above the contracted amount. Ms. Price and Ms. Moore exploited this couple by forging nearly 60 checks. This took place due to Mr. and Mrs. Melton’s age and deteriorating health.
