The Turning Point USA Board unanimously elected Erika Kirk as the new CEO and Chair of the Board after the assassination of Charlie Kirk.
“It was the honor of our lives to serve as board members at Charlie’s side. Charlie prepared all of us for a moment like this one. He worked tirelessly to ensure Turning Point USA was built to survive even the greatest tests. And now, it is our great pride to announce Erika Kirk as the new CEO and Chair of the Board for Turning Point USA,” wrote Doug De Groote, Mike Miller, Tom Sodeika, and David Engelhardt.
The organization said in prior discussions, Charlie Kirk expressed to multiple executives that this is what he wanted in the event of his death.
“You have no idea the fire that you have ignited within this wife,” Erika Kirk said in her first public address to the nation after Charlie Kirk was killed. “The cries of this widow will echo around the world like a battlecry. To everyone listening tonight across America, the movement my husband built will not die.”
In the letter announcing Erika Kirk, the group continued: “We will not surrender or kneel before evil. We will carry on. The attempt to destroy Charlie’s work will become our change to make it more powerful and enduring than ever before.
“May God Bless Erika, the Kirk family, and the entire team at Turning Point USA.”
