Gov. Rick Scott signed the death warrant for Larry Eugene Mann, 59, who in November 1980 abducted 10-year-old Elisa Nelson on her way to school before killing her, striking her in the head with a cement-encased steel pipe, in an orange grove in Pinellas County.
Scott set the execution for Mann – first sentenced to death for the crime in March 1981 – for 6 p.m. April 10.
