A 10-year-old boy survived by opening a window as his mother killed herself and three other children by driving her van into New York’s Hudson River, police said.
25-year-old Lashanda Armstrong drove her van off a boat ramp in the city of Newburg about 8:00 pm, Tuesday, police said, newyorkpost.com reports. In the van with Armstrong were, 5-year-old Landon Pierre, 2-year-old Lance Pierre, and 11-month-old Lainaina Pierre, police said. All four occupants were killed in the van were killed.
Laushuan Armstrong, the 10-year-old boy was able to escape by rolling down a power window in the van and swimming to shore. The boy was picked up by a passer-by and taken to a nearby fire department for help.
Police believe that mother Lashanda Armstrong drove off the boat ramp, shortly after a domestic incident occurred.
