THE REAL QUESTION IS WHO IS Jessy Hamilton?

By Gail M Cardona

After reading the article in Pine Hills news I was surprised to find the article ‘Who is Frank Cardona? Not surprised the inexperience Jessy didn’t know His name is Franklin Cardona not Frank Cardona. Some school teacher right? Anyway we all know Franklin as the District 4 Supervisor of Soil and water who was instrumental in bringing his department to the people.

Franklin is a community leader and real estate agent by profession who has been instrumental in assisting many families to realize their dream of home ownership.  Franklin was elected as Commissioner of Soil and water in 2002 at which time the meetings for the office were being held in a trailer off of Michigan Avenue in Orlando.   Franklin made the necessary contacts and had the meetings moved to the Orange County Administration Building a public venue where anyone could come who was interested in attending the meetings and voting on the issues at hand.

During his time as Commissioner Franklin Spearheaded an investigation into the issues at Horseshoe Lake in Pine Hills.  In his efforts to bring credibility to the office, Franklin brought to the board Senator Anthony Suarez who donated his time as attorney to the board as well as Retired Police Officer and now Private Investigator Rick Rega who donated his time as private investigator to the board.

Franklin also negotiated with Orange Television to have the meetings televised so that the public would have easy access to the issues that were addressed at the meetings. His collaboration with Orange TV lead to the creation of the show ‘Conserve and Save’. A monthly conservation show hosted by Franklin Cardona.  Every month special guests including guests from the St. Johns and South Florida Water Management district would appear and discuss viable solutions to the water management districts problems and concerns. We are still looking for what Jessy has done in the four months he has been running for office.

In 2006 before Senator Obama made public to the world that he was running for President of the United States Franklin changed over to the Democratic Party when he decided that the Bush administration was doing more harm to his community than good. As an African American Franklin felt he needed to join the party that could best help him help his people. He has backed the democratic campaign and continues to back Senator Obama in his quest for a change for his fellow African American people. Jessy feels any African American who runs for office is only running because Obama is running. Well I have news for you Jessy; you don’t pick our community leaders our community does.

Jessy Hamilton is a 26-year-old school teacher, who has no background in Soil and Water and no real political experience as his attack on the candidate Franklin Cardona proves, He has recently entered the political field with a campaign of slander and liable that will not fool Florida’s voters.  As I try to find out more about Jessy I search the internet but all I could find is his child like MySpace page with pictures of woman in wet tee shirts.

You can find this page here

Jessy also refers to himself as a white male leader as seen in an article written.

Last night, in Orlando, Florida, in anticipation of today’s events we began the process of unifying the campaigns.

The white male leaders (Jessy Hamilton and Mike Yaros) of the Greater Orlando Team Hillary Meet up /Clinton for President steering committee met the white female leaders (Michelle Stile and Nancy White) of the Obama4Orlando meet up group at the Stonewall Bisto (gay bar) in the Parramore neighborhood (African American neighborhood) of Orlando on behalf of the first African American presidential nominee of a major political party. With the presidential campaigns boycotting Florida self-organizing meet up groups played a key role.

Hope things are going well in your neck of woods,

Franklin realize that he is not running against a school teacher but a young man that does not have respect for other people trying to do good for the people. He is a child trying to play an adult game. But we won’t be fooled. And I would ask West Orlando News to reconsider their endorsement and endorse Franklin Cardona. A man from the people for the people.

  1. I am a Broker in Realestate and I read your slandering article addressed to Mr. Hamilton. Lying and confusing truth with facts is not the way to win the peoples vote. I looked on mr. Hamilton’s my space and there were no naked women or anything inappropriate. So i suggest you get your fscts straight before you print such an article again or you are liable to make Mr. Hamilton a wealthy young man. What you don’t know is Mr. Hamilton teaches gifted children in your community and has been a teacher for over 6 years and one of the Best Team Leaders in the school. Mr. Hamilton also was one of the first students to graduate from High School and College at 18 yrs. old.beed i say more.sincerley, Rita Nida

  2. Well it is a sad state of affairs when someone that is new to the business of politics is considered a child. Let us see who is committing on this race. The person who wrote this article(look at the name), another brings out the “child like” quote, another plays the racism card. Let me state this ANYONE in real estate should not hold an office that is directly involved in land development. Take note people another person fairly new to politics is a man named Obama! Let us see if they post this.

  3. I can’t believe your newspaper would publish something like this. Some of those aren’t even sentences. I’m sure FrankLIN Cardona uses Frank as a nickname, and to waste space arguing about that is petty and ridiculous.

I’m from New York, and Jessy’s good name is known all over the east coast. We know he’s young, and we know he doesn’t care if you’re white or black, gay or straight, Catholic or Protestant, etc. We’re excited about him.

I would like to see the real Franklin Cardona’s approval of this article.

Please, please watch what you print.

    Does anyone agree?

  4. YOU MAY SUPPORT JESSY AND THAT’S FINE BUT YOU HAD NO PROBLEM WITH HIS ARTICLE FULL OF LIES. HE DID NO RESEARCH AT ALL.

    1. A REAL ESTATE TYCOON.
I AM A REAL ESTATE AGENT BUT IN TODAYS MARKET I HAVE ONLY SOLD ONE HO– — USE THIS YEAR AND ONLY HAVE 700. DOLLARS IN THE BANK. I DON’T KNOW HOW I BECAME A TYCOON

    2. A PERENIAL CANDIDATE
    3. HE STATED THAT THE ORLANDO SENTINEL SAID I WAS WAITING FOR THE NEXT OPPORTUNITY TO GET MY NAME ON THE BALLOT.
    4. HE STATED I ACCOMPLISHED LESS IN FOUR YEARS THEN HE HAS IN FOUR MONTHS
    5. HE STATED I BECAME A DEMOCRAT IN 2008 BECA– — USE OF OBAMA. CALL THE SUPERVISOR OF ELECTIONS I CHANGED OVER IN 2006
    6. HE STATED THAT I LOST TO SIPLIN BECA– — USE OF MY CONTROVERSIAL VIEWS ON RACE RELATIONS. HOW DOES AN AFRICAN AMERICAN HAVE CONTROVERSIAL VIEWS ON RACE?
NOW IM AWARE THIS IS A YOUNG MAN TRYING TO HELP PEOPLE BUT YOU CAN’T THROW MUD AND NOT GET ANY ON YOURSELF. FACT OF LIFE.
HE STARTED OUT HIS CAMPAIGN WITH LIES AND UNTRUTHS BUT OU DON’T CARE ABOUT THAT ONLY WHAT I WROTE.
SO MY ADVICE TO JESSY IS GET TO NO A PERSON CHECK HIS BACKGROUND BEFORE YOU SLANDER HIS NAME.
AND NEVER START YOUR CAREER IN POLITICS BY BEING DIRTY

  5. As an Attorney, former state representative and member of the enviornmental committee of the state laegislature, I can advise your readers that I personally know Franklin Cardona. He is a very hard working individual who after running for public office at my insistance, took off in taking the soil and water commission to heights in had never reached. He was directly responsible for having the soil and water meetins televised for constituents to observe and follow. He took the silver lake issue as far as the agency could go. He constantly asked my offie for legal opinions on exactly how far their jurisdiction went in order to attempt to resolve problems no other governmental agency was interested in tackling. Franklin did a great job for a Freshman politician, he should have won the state senate seat he sought. Our community would be greatly benefited by having Mr. Cardona returned to the commission.

  6. Cardona and the Politics of Personal Destruction
    By Jessy Hamilton

    http://www.myspace.com/votejessy

Throughout his entire career, the right-wing machine hunted Bill Clinton and sought to blow out the flame emanating from his genius. When they failed to defeat him on the campaign trail and at the ballot box, they dredged up anything they could find to destroy him as a man. They began pointing fingers, calling names, and looking for blue dresses all over Washington. In the meantime, our nation’s security was placed at risk and the poor went without healthcare while the Republican Congress channeled their energy into demonizing the best President our country has had since John F. Kennedy.

After his election in 2000, George W. Bush took the politics of personal destruction to the next level. Ordinary people became targets as Bush, Cheney, and their cronies accused anyone who opposed their policies of being “anti-American” and unpatriotic. The Bush Administration divided our country, pitting American against American, and in March 2003 from Union Terminal in Cincinnati, announced that we would engage Iraq in a war without end. I was in the original group of anti-war protesters standing outside that building praying for peace when George W. Bush turned the world upside down. I was a first year teacher with a record of running successful campaigns for local Democrats. Franklin Cardona, Jr. was a George Bush Republican treading water on the Conservation board, and “angling” as the Orlando Sentinel put it, for his next office. Two years later while Cardona planned his campaign against Gary Siplin for the Florida Senate, I was in Birmingham with Civil Rights leader Fred Shuttlesworth touring landmarks in the struggle for equal rights and gathering information on his work with Dr. King to bring back to my students in south central Orlando.

I’ve been a registered Democrat fighting for progressive values my whole life. Cardona stood by George W. Bush for the first seven years of his administration, and now he wants to sell himself as a born-again Democrat since being a registered Republican won’t get him elected in Orange County. He may have changed his party registration, but he still hasn’t given up the dishonesty and mean-spirited campaign tactics that are intended to tear people down in an effort to build his self up. I wish I could introduce Franklin Cardona to the man at the top of our ticket. Barack Obama has inspired me as he has so many to run a campaign that empowers people and restores hope that America’s best days are ahead of us. Barack led me to believe that change begins from the ground up, and that we all have a role to play – young and old, people of all colors and all faiths – we’re in this together, and we need each other to build an Orange County and an America we’ll be proud to hand on to our children. You will never hear me or any representative from my campaign launch a personal attack against Franklin Cardona that resembles anything close to the article published by his campaign in the West Orlando News yesterday. Barack Obama has taught me that I am better than that, and more importantly the community I seek to represent deserves better. Change is on the way…

  7. My fellow citizens,

please stop the name calling and sidetracking the issues !
    (you sound like Republicans !)
please just tell us what you would do to improve the Soil & Water Commission

thank you for caring enough to run for office – now tell us why you are the best candidate
    Tom Namey

PS: I’ve already taken 10 points off your score for the way you’ve run your campaign so far
