The Orlando Magic Celebrate Black History Month

In celebration of Black History Month the Orlando Magic held a Black History Night at the Monday, February 2, 2009 Dallas vs. Orlando matchup.  The activities included a pre-game presentation honoring African-American trailblazers and United Negro College Fund students who are excelling academically; a halftime performance featuring the Jones High School Band; and a VIP reception with various African-American community leaders.

Throughout the month of February, the Magic will have messaging during all home games on black history and the African-American Community Network (comprised of artists, entertainers and nonprofit organizations) will distribute literature on the concourse.   The Magic also has a black history Web page which includes video, historical facts and community leader highlights.
