Two suspects are now in custody after carjacking an elderly man and crashing his vehicle on Old Winter Garden Road on Thursday, Orlando police said.

Christopher Smith and Trynton Hamilton, both 18 years, have been arrested after they fled the crashed car near Ivey Lane, police also said.

The carjacking began just before 11:45 a.m., when Smith and Hamilton spotted the 75-year-old man walking back to his car in Eagles Nest park where he frequently goes to read his bible.

The teens approached the elderly man, demanded his keys and a struggle ensued.  One of the teens used a “stun gun” on the elderly man several times, got the keys from him and took off in his Grey Chrysler 300.

Smith and Hamilton, who left the area at a very high rate of speed, bailed from the vehicle following the single-vehicle crash on Old Winter Garden Road, police said.

The elderly man sustained minor injuries and declined to go to a hospital.

Meanwhile, one of the teens complained of chest pains and other minor injuries after the crash and was transported to a local area hospital.

Police recovered a “stun gun” in the crashed vehicle.

While other charges are pending, Smith and Hamilton have been charged with resisting an officer without violence.  Smith also faces charges of felony violation of probation and trespass in a conveyance.

Smith and Hamilton will be booked into the Orange County Jail later today.
