As some 180,000 Orange County Public School students head back to school next Monday, Sheriff Jerry Demings is warning reckless drivers that, a citation will be given if they are exceeding the posted speed limits in schools zones.

“We have a Zero Tolerance policy in school zones,” Demings said in a statement. “Anyone stopped by deputies who is exceeding posted speed limits in school zones, passing a stopped school bus, or driving in any way that could harm our children, will receive a citation.”  Demings urged drivers to slow down, pay attention and to allow sufficient time to get to their destination safely.
