Erica Pugh, the teen charged as an accomplice in the killing of Orange County Deputy Sheriff Jonathan Scott Pine nearly one year ago, today pleaded guilty to manslaughter and was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
Pugh, 18, was with her boyfriend, Benjamin Holtermann, 28, when he gunned down Deputy Pine who was investigating a car break-in at Apopka Vineland Road and Conroy Windermere on the night of February 11, 2014.
Holtermann fled the scene and was found dead nearby, of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Pugh was found in a stolen Honda Accord.
According to deputies, Pugh was with Holtermann and the pair were burglarizing cars, just before Deputy Pine was killed.
An Orange County judge sentenced Pugh to 15 years in prison.
