Target Robbery Suspects ID’ed

Deputies have identified the four suspects wanted in connection with burglarizing a Target store on West Sand Lake Road, early on Friday morning.

Orange County deputies said, the suspects are: 20-year-old Eliomar Rios-Martin, 26-year-old Revilier Lopez, 28-year-old Joseph Catto-Diaz and 19-year-old Christian Luis-Resto.

Deputy Shawn McCook, who responded to an alarm call around 5:00 a.m., spotted the four suspects leaving the Target parking on west Sand Lake Road in a white van.

Investigators said, the men then entered the Las Palmas Apartment Complex and jumped into another vehicle and headed toward Deputy Shawn McCook, who was in pursuit.  Deputy McCook, who opened fire, was struck by the fleeing vehicle.

Arriving deputies were able to apprehend three of the suspects in the parking lot of the Sports Authority nearby. A fourth man who fled on foot was tracked by a K-9.

While it is unclear if all four would be charged with burglary, deputies discovered multiple electronic items inside the white van originally seen by Deputy McCook.

Deputy McCook has been with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office since August of 2011 and is assigned to Sector 4 Patrol.  He will be assigned to administrative duties, as an investigation into the deputy-involved shooting is undertaken.
