The state Office of Supplier Diversity (OSD), a division of the Florida Department of Management Services (DMS), is hosting its most anticipated business event of the year on May 19th.
The 2011 “Tallahassee MatchMaker” will be held at the Florida State University – Turnbull Conference Center, 555 West Pensacola Street, Tallahassee, Florida 32301.
Small and Minority business owners across the state have traveled to Tallahassee to join standing-room only crowds seeking to sell their goods and products to government agencies and private companies.
“We always expect a big crowd at the Tallahassee MatchMaker,” said OSD’s Thad Fortune. “Representatives from almost every state agency will be present at the conference to talk to business owners one-on-one about how they may participate in state purchasing contracts.”
Purchasing staff from the Lottery, Management Services, Department of Health, Department of Transportation and other state agencies along with purchasers from Leon County, the City of Tallahassee, Florida State and Florida A&M Universities will all attend the Tallahassee MatchMaker 2011 and try to help your business sell more goods and services.
The 2011 Tallahasee MatchMaker begins on May 19, 2011 with Registration at 8AM. A 9AM greeting by DMS Secretary Jack P’ Miles will be followed by workshops on “Social Media for Business”, “Doing Business with State Agencies” and “10 Secrets of Profitability”. At 1PM minority and small business owners will have opportunities to sit down one-on-one with public and private purchasing agents.
