Florida Gov. Charlie Crist says the state has its first two confirmed cases of swine flu. Crist says the cases involve an 11-year-old boy who attends Spring Creek Elementary School in Lee County and a 17-year-old a girl who attends Hallandale High School in Broward County. “We have our first two cases of the h1n1 virus in Florida,” said Gov. Charlie Crist.
Those were the first two cases tested by the CDC of the eight potential cases of swine flu in Florida. Besides Orange, Lee and Broward counties, Alachua, Palm Beach and Pinellas counties also have possible cases.
The one potential case sent from Orange County to the CDC got in line behind the other samples from Lee and Broward, but the Orange County Health Department is ramping up resources just in case.
