Construction work for the SunRail project is occurring during the next few days and this will lead to intermittent closure of lanes, the Florida Department of Transportation said Friday.
Intermittent Lane Closure in Lake Mary
SunRail crews will intermittently close the right lane of westbound Lake Mary Boulevard at the railroad tracks starting tomorrow/Saturday, January 5 continuing Sunday, January 6 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. each day. The lane closure will permit trucks to enter and exit the rail corridor, and deliver gravel that will be used on the new tracks. No detours will be in place during these closures.
Road Closure in Edgewood
SunRail crews are closing Stratemeyer Road at the railroad crossing in Edgewood from Tuesday, January 8 at 7 a.m. to Thursday, January 10 at 7 p.m. The closure allows crews to install a second set of tracks at Stratemeyer Road, rebuild the existing sidewalks and resurface the road.
The Florida Department of Transportation urges everyone to obey railroad crossing signals and never cross at a closed crossing gate.
