Sun Sports/Fox Sports Announce Magic Telecast Schedule

The defending NBA Eastern Conference Champion Orlando Magic are getting set to tip off the 2009-10 season with returning star Dwight Howard, not to mention the exciting addition of eight-time All-Star Vince Carter.  Sun Sports and FOX Sports Florida will be there all season as the two networks combine to offer Orlando Magic fans 70 regular season game telecasts during the 2009-010 season, with 38 scheduled on Sun Sports and 32 on FOX Sports Florida.

The 2009-2010 Sun Sports & FOX Sports Florida regular season schedule tips off with the Magic’s home opener versus the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday, October 28, beginning at 6:30pm with the MAGIC LIVE pregame show on Sun Sports.  Other highlights on the 70-game schedule include a re-match of last season’s Eastern Conference Finals with the Cleveland Cavaliers at home on November 11 and three games versus intrastate rival, the Miami HEAT.

For the seventh consecutive season, select Orlando Magic regular season games will also be produced in high definition.  Specific HD telecasts and area providers offering the HD games will be announced at a later date.

Calling the action for Orlando Magic basketball on Sun Sports and FOX Sports Florida will be longtime Magic announcer David Steele (play-by-play), celebrating his 21st season with the team, and former Magic coach and national NBA analyst Matt Guokas (analyst).  MAGIC LIVE pregame shows will precede select telecasts along with MAGIC LIVE postgame coverage immediately following each game telecast.  Both shows are hosted by Paul Kennedy, who also returns for his 21st season covering the Magic as host and courtside reporter.  Sun Sports/FOX Sports Florida’s Whit Watson will host select editions MAGIC LIVE pre- and postgame shows and Jessica Blaylock and Dante Marchitelli  will provide feature reports.

Sun Sports will premiere this year’s ORLANDO MAGIC PRESEASON SPECIAL statewide on October 20, at 8:00 p.m.  The show will also air on FOX Sports Florida.  Hosted by Kennedy, the half-hour program will preview the upcoming season and introduce fans to the new faces on the team.  Sun Sports and FOX Sports Florida will also produce and air all-new episodes of INSIDE THE MAGIC, hosted by Watson, giving fans an up-close look at their favorite team and players with inside access and innovative programs.
