Casey Anthony will be forced to show up at the Orange County courthouse in January, whether she wants to or not, after her attorneys accepted a defamation subpoena on her behalf on Thursday.
Zenaida Gonzalez, is suing the Orlando mom for ruining her life, after Anthony falsely claimed that her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee, was kidnapped by a baby sitter with the same name. Also known as ‘Zanny the Nanny,’ Anthony later admitted to fabricating the story.
Earlier this month, an Orange County judge ruled that Gonzalez’ attorneys must get access to Anthony’s current and past addresses, although the information is sealed to the public.
Cheney Mason, one of Anthony’s attorneys during her first degree murder trial, accepted the subpoena, according to news reports.
Anthony, who will face a judge next January, was acquitted last July of murdering her daughter. She has not been seen in public since walking out of the Orange County Jail last summer.
Gonzalez claimed she lost her job and apartment because of the false connection to the disappearance of Caylee. The child’s skeletal remains were found near the Anthony family home in December 2008, several months after her disappearance.
