With job creation and putting Floridians back to work as top priorities, state Representative Hazelle Rogers will host a Workforce Summit from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, September 23, at the Inverrary Country Club, 3840 Inverrary Blvd., Lauderhill. The event is free and open to the public. Many business owners, operators and job seekers are expected to attend.
Participants include WorkForce One, Broward County Office of Economic Development, Broward County Purchasing Division, Port Everglades, and International Longshoremen’s Association Local 1526. The summit is supported by the Lauderdale Lakes Chamber of Commerce, the Lauderhill Regional Chamber of Commerce; the Greater Caribbean American Chamber; the Latin American, Puerto Rican and Tamarac chambers of commerce; Broward Building Officials; R. J. Behar & Company; M. Gill and Associates; and others.
“Putting the residents of Broward County and all of South Florida back to work is my primary focus,” said Representative Rogers. “This workforce summit is a great opportunity for businesses looking to hire qualified Floridians who are eager to land a good job. I am proud that the participants in the summit will include representatives of Workforce One who will help bring to reality in South Florida the economic development initiatives championed by President Barack Obama and members of Congress.”
