A Riviera Beach police detective was acquitted by a jury of 152 charges, including forgery and official misconduct.
Lee Ann Schneider, 44, facing at least 20 years in prison if convicted, cried from the beginning of the first “not guilty” to when the last acquittal was read, palmbeachpost.com reports.
Schneider was accused by investigators of forging her supervisor Detective Sgt. Pat Galligan’s name on numerous arrest affidavits so he could claim overtime. She said she did so because he asked her to and the hours claimed were legitimate.
