St. Cloud Fire Rescue Paramedic/Firefighter Ryan Gallik is the City of St. Cloud June Employee of the Month. He was recognized during a regular council meeting Aug. 8 at City Hall for his kind efforts while attending classes at Florida State Fire College in Ocala.

Some of Gallik’s fellow students attending classes on campus were military personnel who were not from the local area. Recognizing their dilemma, in appreciation to their service to country, and knowing how hard it is to be in an unfamiliar area, Gallik befriended the service members and took it upon himself to help them.

“Ryan used his time off from classes to go shopping for a variety of sporting equipment and games, arranged transportation for the service members for the weekend, and provided them with complimentary tickets to a Central Florida theme park,” explained St. Cloud Fire Rescue Assistant Chief William Sturgeon. “The Florida State Fire College assistant superintendent was so impressed by Ryan’s actions that he decided to take the time to write a letter in appreciation of Ryan’s exemplary performance in support of our men and women serving in the armed forces. Ryan is an excellent employee and he consistently brings credit to our department and city, but his actions brought an even more positive light to this wonderful small town! In this instance, he rose way above average and is commended for his extraordinarily kind actions.”

Gallik has been a City employee for seven years and his efforts are recognized and appreciated.
