As part of that public meeting, Orange County Parks and Recreation Manager Matt Suedmeyer announced Emily May, 9, as the winner of this year’s winner of the “Draw Your Own Recreation Center” art contest.

Emily, who will attend 4th grade at Deerwood Elementary in the fall, participated in the contest through Camp Scooter at the new Orange County Orlando Magic Recreation Center at South Econ Community Center.

With her mom Tamera May on hand, Emily was presented with a framed copy of her winning art in front of the Mayor and County Commissioners.
