Sink Joins Investment Banking Firm

Former state Chief Financial Officer and Democratic gubernatorial candidate Alex Sink has joined investment banking firm Hyde Park Capital, the company announced Thursday.

Sink, who left the Cabinet after one term in January will be a senior advisor, focusing on business development and expanding the firm’s client relationships.

Before being elected CFO in 2006, Sink had a a 26-year career at Nations Bank and Bank of America, including serving bank president.

“We are very pleased and honored to have Alex Sink join our investment banking firm,” said John Hill, co-founder and senior managing director of Hyde Park Capital. “We have a long relationship with Alex and greatly admire her for her high level of integrity and significant civic contributions to the State of Florida.”

Sink, who ran a poor gubernatorial campaign was narrowly defeated by Gov. Rick Scott, last November.

She said in a statement that she had evaluated a number of job opportunities.

“Hyde Park Capital’s focus on successful public and private middle market companies allows me to pursue my continued long term interest in working with Florida’s business community and entrepreneurs,” Sink said.
