Deputies are investigating a shooting incident in close proximity to the Lovell Elementary School in Apopka that occurred around 2:03 pm, on Thursday. The school has been placed on lock down.
According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office:
At 2:03 PM today the Sheriff’s Office received a 9-1-1 call from an anonymous witness who advised that an African American female had shot at an African American male with a long gun. Deputies responded to 502 Roger Williams Road in Apopka and began an immediate search for a victim and a suspect. Because of this incident’s close proximity to Lovell Elementary School and the ongoing search for an armed suspect the school has been locked down.
