A man was arrested Thursday, accused of attempted sexual battery, burglary and grand theft, at the same apartment complex in which he lives.
Orange County deputies say, Alix Chery, 22, entered two separate residences at the Berkshire at Winter Park Apartments, early on Thursday morning. At the first apartment, Chery demanded oral sex from a woman he found sleeping inside. When the woman screamed, he fled the scene but not before making off with a couple of cellular phones.
Later on Thursday, around 5:00 a.m., investigators say, Chery entered a second residence at the complex, twice, scaring a woman who was also sleeping inside. On this occasion he again made off with a cell phone.
Chery admitted in a sworn statement, he had entered the apartments. He told investigators he had gone to the first apartment to take a white Samsung Galaxy phone and saw a female sleeping on the couch. As the woman awakened, Chery said he got a sexual urge and became aroused. When the woman screamed, he fled the apartment, throwing away the cell phones, as he escaped.
Believing he had gotten away the first time, Chery admitted to entering a second apartment. He told deputies he understood how the women would be scared and apologized for his actions.
Chery was charged with attempted sexual battery with deadly force and two charges each of burglary and grand theft. He was booked into the Orange County Jail.
