Several of South Florida beaches have reopened on Friday, after tens of thousands sharks, spotted near the shore yesterday, led to their temporary closure.
According to researchers at the Florida Atlantic University, about 15,000 sharks were spotted, some as near as 200 yards from the shore, businessinsider.com reports.
The blacktip and spinner sharks that were seen are part of the annual migration from Florida to North Carolina. Â It’s triggered by a change in the water’s temperature and usually begins and ends well before the height of the spring break.
