Orange County Sheriff’s deputies on Friday arrested a man believed to be responsible for multiple armed Family Dollar Store robberies over an eight month period across Central Florida.
The suspect is Cedric McKnight, 35 years.
McKnight, who is currently in custody, faces up to six counts of robbery with a firearm and according to deputies, has an extensive criminal record.
The suspect’s last known robbery was carried out on August 7, 2010 around 8:40 pm, when he entered the Family Dollar Store on 3015 South Rio Grande Avenue and demanded money while making threats with a firearm. After the robbery, he fled the store with an undisclosed amount of money.
McKnight is believed to have carried out six armed robberies of Family Dollar Stores across Central Florida since December 2nd 2009.
Deputies said he had been observed wearing a black wig or baseball cap during some of the robberies and acted alone.
Orange County Sheriff’s detectives would not say where McKnight was arrested and the time of his arrest.
McKnight’s arrest came after a viewer saw photos from the crime scenes on TV or online and called CrimeLine at 1-800-423-TIPS (8477).
I am so tired of all these white people robbing, raping, and mudering people.
