“The fundraiser was a great success. This was the first since we received our charter and there was a lot of excitement surrounding it. I heard lots of positives about it. People said the food was tasty…the portions were generous and the atmosphere was lovely.
When she wasn’t serving plates, cooking waffles, or providing fresh coffee, McCoy was making rounds through the venue and was happy with what she heard from attendees.
“I heard lots of positives about it. People said the food was tasty, the portions were generous and the atmosphere was beautiful,” she added.
McCoy detailed upcoming events for the chapter, which has a plethora of events slated for the year.. “We have adopted the stretch of land on Nova Road between International Speedway Blvd. and Mason Ave and it will soon have a sign with our name on it. We will be doing a street cleanup in the near future after the signs are placed. Our community service calendar is pretty much set for the entire year. We just initiated two new sisters to bolster our numbers and expect to continue growing. People is Daytona and Ormond Beach will be seeing a lot of Serenity Chapter #118 in 2015 and beyond,” she added.
The brothers of Boaz Lodge #212 showed up en masse to support their fraternal sisters. Worshipful Master Donald Jordan expressed how intricate the relationship between Masonic brothers and the sister of the Order of the Eastern Star.
“Are far as a bond between fraternal organizations, there is none more endearing than that between Masons and Eastern Stars. The wholesome relationship of sisterly and brotherly love brought about through high principles exemplified in the lives of our members is what cements that bond. I look forward to a long and productive relationship between our organizations moving forward. After all, we are our sisters’ keepers, we’ve got their back. Jordan concluded.
