The School Board announced Tuesday, three finalists have been selected to be interviewed for the next Superintendent of Seminole County Public Schools.
The finalists are:
– Walt Griffin, currently Executive Director Secondary Education of Seminole County Public Schools. Griffin has held this position since 2007 and was formerly principal for eight years of the Seminole High School in Sanford.
– Scott Howat, Senior Director of Labor and Legislative Relations of Orange County Public Schools. Howat has served in this position for close to two years. He is currently a member of the Board of Trustees of Seminole State College of Florida.
– Mark Porter is Superintendent of South Washington County Schools in Minnesota.
All three finalists will be interviewed on April 16 and 17, at the Educational Support Center, 400 East Lake Mary Boulevard in Sanford.

Dr. Bill Vogel, who has been superintendent for the Seminole County school system since 2003, will leave the position this spring.
