About 60,000 students, pre-K through 12 grade, headed back to classrooms Monday, in Seminole County.

Seminole County Public Schools, home to over sixty schools and which consistently ranks as one of the top performing school districts in Florida with an “A” rating, is also celebrating its 100th anniversary this week.

District officials plan to commemorate the achievements and the spirit of Seminole County Public Schools with a video documentary created by a group of students, teachers and administrators, with the help of the Public History Center.

As students return to the classroom, 3,000 elementary school students are headed to different schools, on account of re-zoning or redistricting, cfnew13.com reports.
