Scott Mute on School Safety, Gun Laws

Gov. Rick Scott, who has steadfastly declined to say specifically what he thinks should be done to protect schools from mass shooters, said Wednesday that lawmakers should “look at our laws” about the issue, but again refused to take a position on whether that should include changing gun laws.

The Tampa Bay Times reported that Scott said “the right thing to do is go back and look at our laws,” when asked about whether gun laws should be reviewed while talking with reporters after a stop at a business in Largo. He declined to be more specific, as did a spokeswoman in a follow-up question.
