The Orange County Library System Board of Trustees voted on May 14, 2020 not to extend the lease for the Herndon Branch library.
“This was a difficult decision, but given the history of challenges with this location and the current economic environment, the Herndon Branch will not reopen,” Orange County Library Services posted online. “Customers can also continue to use our growing number of virtual amenities and our home-delivery service, which brings library materials to customers’ home on request.”
The Herndon book drop will close on June 1, 2020. Library customers may use any other Orange County Library System Branch, including the Chickasaw Branch, which is 4.6 miles from Herndon, and the Orlando Public Library, which is 3.5 miles from Herndon.
“We’ve enjoyed serving the community from the Herndon Branch for more than 20 years,” Orange County Library Services added. “Thank you to all of our Herndon customers.”
So sorry to hear Herndon branch has closed.
It was the most convenient location for us, and will be missed.
