Former Budget Director in the Reagan administration, David Stockman, blasted Paul Ryan’s budget plan in an op-ed piece in the New York Times, calling it a “fairy tale.”
Stockman, who used other terms to describe Ryan’s budget, railed against the fact that it preserves massive and unnecessary spending on Defense, while it proposes to cut food stamps, Medicaid and other programs that help poor and low-income Americans.
Ryan’s plan also cuts taxes on the richest Americans, even as it proposes to balance the budget on the backs of those who could least afford it. Also, the Ryan budget offers no serious plan to create jobs.
