Rock Thrown Through ICE Car Window by Son of Arrestee at WaWa in Florida

A rock was thrown through an ICE car window by the son of an arrestee during a federal operation at a WaWa in Florida.

Port St. Lucie Police Department was recently dispatched to WaWa on Village Pkwy after U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Border Patrol were conducting an operation along the Treasure Coast.

According to law enforcement, while federal agents were making an arrest, 19-year-old Pasqual Velasquez Martin, the son of the arrestee, decided to throw a large rock at the occupied agent’s vehicle as it was driving by, shattering the rear back window. Velasquez Martin fled the scene but didn’t get far, as multiple agents were in the area and took him into custody without incident.

No officers or agents were injured.

Velasquez Martin was charged with one count of Throwing a Deadly Missile into an Occupied Vehicle, which is a second degree felony.

“We also want to once again thank our fantastic supportive community, as a witness stayed on scene to confirm Velasquez Martin was the individual who threw the large rock at law enforcement officers,” PSLPD stated.

“Let this arrest serve as a reminder, that criminal activity such as this will not be tolerated in our city!”
