Earlier this afternoon around 1:30pm, OPD responded to a call at the Old Navy Store, 4018 Conroy Rd., where a commercial robbery was in progress. It was learned that the suspects hit the security guard, injuring him.
Subsequently, the suspects fled in a Chrysler 300., and traveled on I-4 to the Florida Turnpike to 192 and ended in Osceola County near Boggy Creek and Boggy Creek Terrace. Initially, the suspects refused to stop when police first located the vehicle. Eventually, the vehicle, with air support, was stopped and the two suspects were detained.
The suspects are identified as Cynthia C. Pressley, a 22-year-old black female, the driver of the get-away car and Johnny L. Weaver, a 35-year-old black male.
It is anticipated that Pressley will be charged with fleeing and eluding police, while Weaver could face charges of commercial robbery and battery.
Both suspects will be booked into the Osceola County Jail.
