Republican Enters Race for Florida House of Representatives District 35

In June, Republican Scotty Moore announced his intenton to seek the Florida House of Representatives, District 35 seat. The seat is currently held by State Representative Fred Hawkins, who recently announced he will resign from that seat to pursue a state government position.

There will likely be a special election in upcoming months.

“Ester and I are honored to announce that I am seeking the position to serve our community and state as Republican candidate for Florida House District 35,” Moore said.

Rishi Bagga, a Democrat, also declared his candidacy for the Central Florida State House District.

“We cannot allow the woke, radical agenda that the Democrats ascribe to and push to gain any foothold in Florida,” Republican Moore said. “We must protect and continue to enhance the conservative policies being put forward by the State Legislature and Governor Ron DeSantis’ bold leadership. I believe it is essential we: Keep. Florida. Free.”

Moore ran for United States Congress in 2022, becoming the Republican nominee by winning a multi-candidate primary with 61% of the votes cast.

For over 20 years, Moore worked at the largest Christian mission organization in the world, Campus Crusade for Christ; now known as Cru. Throughout his career, Moore said he made it his mission to help people know Jesus and help transform their lives. Moore has coached people to reach their dream weight, assisted struggling marriages, coached individuals in their leadership and personal development and helped struggling businesses steady the ship and set a course for the future.

He said he has also traveled extensively and lived in Brazil for 6 years where he married his wife and learned to speak Portuguese on the streets of Brazil.

Moore “strongly believes” not all leaders are alike and “that we need patriots who will courageously defend the Constitution, promote conservative principles that honor God and Keep. Florida. Free.”
