AirTran Airways, a subsidiary of AirTran Holdings reported on Tuesday that passenger traffic grew by 0.2 percent in July 2010 compared to one year ago.
In July 2010, 2.44 million passengers enplaned as against 2.43 million in July 2009. Year-to-date, 14.5 million passengers enplaned, compared to 13.9 million the year before.
AirTran reported that Revenue passenger miles (RPM) –a measure of passenger traffic for airlines–topped 2.0 billion in July 2010, an increase of 2.2 percent over the same period in 2009.
Available seat miles (ASM)–a measure of airline passenger carrying capacity–also rose 1.9 percent to 2.3 billion, compared to 2.2 billion the year before. The airline reported that its load factor for the month was 88.6 percent.
