Apparently, the word “uterus” shouldn’t be used on the Florida House Floor, according to some Republicans.
Republican leaders took State Rep. Scott Randolph (D-Orlando) to task for using the word “uterus” while debating a measure to bar the state from collecting union dues from workers’ paychecks, reports rawstory.com.
Randolph said, it seemed that Republicans were only interested in deregulation and small government when it came to big business, but for the little guy, big government was ok.
So, on the House floor, Randolph suggested that his wife could “incorporate her uterus” if it would stop Republicans from passing more restrictive abortion laws.
Some Republican leaders, concerned about young pages hearing the word were not amused and upbraided Randolph for talking about body parts on the House floor.
“I think it’s a sad commentary about what we think about sex education in the state,” Randolph told the St. Petersburg Times.
