Rally to Say No to Tax Cheats

The American Federation of Government Employees and its coalition partners from across the country are joining together for a day of action on April 17, 2012, when middle-class Americans do the right thing to make sure that our families, friends, communities, and nation have the essential services we need – they pay their taxes.

“But millionaires, billionaires, and big corporations aren’t doing the right thing. They’ll be dodging their responsibility with tax cuts and loopholes. They’re ‘free-riders’ and it’s time to fight back,” stated AFGE National President John Gage. “We want an end to the Bush tax cuts for wealthy Americans, an end to tax loopholes and subsidies for big corporations and Wall Street and we want the establishment of a minimum tax rate of 30% for millionaires so they don’t pay a lower rate than working families.”

Dozens of organizations, including AFGE, are joining together to rally against unjust tax rules. It’s simple: the 1% should pay their fair share. The time to make that demand is now.
