Orange County investigators would like the public’s help in identifying a man who robbed two women and attempted to rob a third within a seven-hour period. The most recent incident occurring around 1:30 a.m., Tuesday morning.
Witnesses say, the man followed a female victim through the Walmart located at 11250 E. Colonial Drive, then as she left to go to her car, grabbed her purse off her arm and ran toward a waiting vehicle. The vehicle is described as a green or black older model SUV such as a Tahoe or Suburban with aftermarket chrome rims and dark tint. The vehicle, believed to be driven by an accomplice, was last seen westbound on East Colonial Dr.
Earlier today, the same man entered the Regal Cinema at 541 N. Alafaya Trail just after 12:15 a.m., and approached a woman pepper-spraying her in the face, while attempting to take her purse. The robbery attempt failed. The man was last seen leaving in a green large SUV, believed to be a Suburban.
Deputies say, on Monday evening, around 6:00 p.m., at the same Walmart, the suspect followed a female leaving the store. He distracted her by asking her a question, reached inside her vehicle and snatched the woman’s purse. He jumped into the passenger seat of the same vehicle.
